The tax season have come upon us once again and I am here to help you spend your tax refund. The average tax refund in 2011 is USD $2913 (http://money.cnn.com/2012/01/10/pf/taxes/tax_refund/index.htm) and we will round it up and use USD $3000 as our budget for this build. In order to justify (I am using this term really loosely) spending $3K on a gaming system, we need something special, something that we can enjoy using it for both work and play. The solution: 3 x 1 Eyefinity Gaming Build

This is what I recommend:

  • Intel Core i7-2600K ($325 @ Newegg)
  • ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe / GEN3 Motherboard ($270 @ Newegg)
  • CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz Desktop Memory ($97 @ Newegg)
  • Thermalright True Spirit 140 CPU Fan & Heatsink ($40 @ Amazon)
  • XFX FX-795A-TNFC Radeon HD 7950 3GB DDR5 Graphic Card ($460 @ Newegg)
  • CORSAIR Force GT 120GB SSD ($171 @ Amazon)
  • Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal HDD ($130 @ Newegg)
  • ASUS Blu-ray Drive ($58 @ Newegg)
  • SeaSonic Platinum 860W Modular PSU ($220 @ Newegg)
  • Silverstone SST-TJ04B-E Black Aluminum Computer Case ($146 @ Amazon)
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM ($100 @ Newegg)
  • 3 x Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24” Monitor with LED (3 x $329 @ Dell)

Here you have it. The total cost of the system is USD $3004 and you are ready to enjoy 5760 x 1200 pixel right before you, for work and for play. I hope you enjoy this build and let me know what you think by leaving comments below.

When it come to picking what brand of PC Component to buy, there are a lot of factors to consider. What is the length of warranty? How easy it is to get support or RMA in case of failure? What is the professional and user review of the company and products? Even the way the product look might factor into your choice sometime. The name of the brand is not everything but it might help to give you peace of mind knowing the company will backup their product when it failed.
